Nuptials for the Dead: 2012 Production Workshop Announced

Nuptials for the Dead is a dreamscape spectacle being readied for one or more commercial performances by Luminous Thread Productions. Luminous Thread is serving as the sponsor for this year's production workshop at Inventing Earth. In 2011, The Great New England Steampunk Exhibition acted as a sponsor in matching funds raised by Inventing Earth on the grassroots funding site, Kickstarter.com. For 2012, Inventing Earth will again go to our community for help with raising the money required to build a new theatrical production. Luminous Thread is contributing both financial and human resources to the task as well.

We hope that the model defined in this cooperative project can be replicated by Inventing Earth with other production companies in the future. Here is how the production workshop is put together:

1. Luminous Thread brings established, professional artists from multiple fields to mentor and coach early career professional-level talent.
2. Inventing Earth provides the workshop environment and the budding artists, technicians, and others looking for the opportunity to work with and learn from the veterans.
3. At the end of the workshop, the production company sponsors a live performance to showcase the completed work. After the workshop ends, Luminous Thread will offer some or all the performers a commercial contract for one or more professional performances.
