Oma Dance Theatre – Three Internships
Why is it important for us to tell the stories of our communities and elders? Oma Dance Theatre seeks to answer this question. Inventing Earth is seeking three interns to help develop this important cultural project. Preference will be given to multidisciplinary artists who can work at a professional or near-professional level in more than one of the following areas:
  • WRITERS to interview elders and collect Grandmother Stories, and help turn them into scripts for performance
  • THEATRE ARTISTS to help create costumes, props, and the puppet-characters of sizes from six inches to 15 feet tall that will comprise the Oma Dance Theatre repertory of characters
  • PERFORMERS who are gifted modern and contemporary dancers/movers and who are preferably able to write and/or sing and/or act and/or collaborate to some degree in the plastic theatre arts – set, costume, and prop creation

All three internships offer flexible time frame, duration, and total hours. Students are able to tailor the internships to meet specific educational goals.

Arts Administration – One Internship
