- Oma Dance Theatre – Throughout human history, grandmothers and elders of the family and tribe, have preserved and passed on stories of the family and cultural group; taught traditions, food preparation, crafts, ceremonies, and rituals; assisted in childrearing; and shared the rich treasures of perspective, counsel, and the wisdom earned through decades of experience. Through Oma Dance Theatre and the Oma Stories Project, Inventing Earth seeks to “crowd source” stories and traditions from ordinary people that deserve to be told and remembered, preserved and passed on. It is hoped that Oma Dance Theatre and Oma Stories Project can contribute to the Collective Grandmother Wisdom of Humanity; can become, in a way, a grandmother. >>READ MORE

- The Flying Body Choir – In late spring 2010, Inventing Earth hosted Dr. Mary Larew for a month. She offered four workshops in vocal music of the world and medieval vocal technique. The group has continued meeting once a week at the beautiful Prescott College Chapel, renowned in some circles for its extraordinary acoustics. We learned original works by composers Meg Borhman, Ben Sargent, Jonathan Best, members of the group; exploring somatic singing in warmups led by Mary Lin, M.Ed. M.F.A.); and continuing to explore the amazing shape note, Balkan, and medieval musical literature that Mary Larew introduced us to.
- Labyrinth of Stars – Imagine a forty foot labyrinth traced in gently flickering stars and heavenly bodies 1 to 2 inches in size. In total darkness, the stars glow, providing the only light and guiding participants in a walking meditation to the Center of the labyrinth that takes ten -20 minutes in, ten or so minutes out. Even absolute non-meditators report profound experiences of healing and revelation. It's been described as walking a galaxy in deep space as the stars appear to be in the sky below, at various depths. While people are walking it we sing and chant sacred music of many traditions, with a focus on medieval chant, specifically Hildegard von Bingen, as she wrote in the sacred scale used by Pythagoras which is closest to the overtone sequence in nature. Her music embodies the Viriditas, the greening power of Nature, the deep down freshness in things, which comes to still point at the Solstice before surging again through the earth. >>SEE PHOTOS
